No, real-time collaborative editing isn't supported. If you share your login with someone else, you can take turns editing — just make sure to coordinate closely on who's editing when, since simultaneous changes can overwrite each other's work.
Yes — if it's a custom book (also called Square book), you can go in and make as many changes or additions as you want, any time. Your book stays a living document.
If it's a PDF book, you cannot edit it directly, but you can replace the PDF file by going to the editor and clicking "Replace File" in the right sidebar. Uploading a new version of the PDF this way retains the book's URL, cover, description, and all of its settings and metadata.
You're responsible for making sure you have the right to use any image in your book — only use pictures you own, or that are properly licensed (royalty-free/stock images are fine). We can't police every image uploaded to Ourboox, but we do receive and act on copyright takedown requests, and books using unlicensed images can be taken down if we're notified by the rights holder.
Yes — just make the book private, and share the private link with only the people you want to see it. Keep in mind that if they forward that link, anyone with it will be able to view the book too.
Of course — we have no problem with you publishing your own material elsewhere too, even in full.
Go to your Dashboard / My Books — you'll see a "Delete" button on the book. (You can also do this from inside the editor by clicking "Book details" and then "Delete this book".)
After a confirmation step, your book will be deleted. Deleted books go to the "Deleted" tab in your Dashboard / My Books, where you can restore them within 30 days before they're permanently deleted.
Note: if your book was public before deletion, it may still show up in search results for a while afterward — search engines like Google need some time to notice the change and update their listings.
Any book on Ourboox, regardless of format, can be in one of two statuses:
You own everything you create and upload to Ourboox. By publishing, you give us a license to display, distribute, and promote your work as part of the Service — but you keep the rights. Full details are in our Terms of Service.
We back up all books on our own servers, but we suggest you also keep a separate copy of your material. Right now, there isn't a way to download your book directly from Ourboox.
Ourboox has been running since 2014 — 12 years and counting. We host hundreds of thousands of books today, run on modern, reliable infrastructure with regular backups, and carry no outside debt or investor obligations that could force a shutdown. We're not going anywhere.
After cancelling your subscription, your books remain readable and accessible, but you won't be able to change their status, edit them, or create new ones.
Reach out to us at support@ourboox.com and we'll take a look. Payment and billing issues (including refund requests) are handled case by case.
We accept major credit and debit cards, along with Apple Pay and Google Pay. Depending on your location, additional local payment options may be available at checkout.
To upgrade, visit our pricing page (or click "Start Creating"), choose monthly or annual billing, and complete checkout.
To downgrade, follow the same steps as cancelling your subscription (see above).
