It was a winter night in Athens. Our friend Christos took us to one of his favorite restaurants in Athens. We considered the irony of eating Italian food in Athens. But what the heck.

The “Sisters of Mercy”, Agoree and Suzanna welcomed us in from the cold.

Everywhere, people are running the maze in search of Fame and Fortune.

But we were looking for shelter. The sign told us to sit back, relax and take it easy.

The decor was lovely.

The food was delicious. It disappeared before I could photograph it.

The sisters invited us to try amazing desserts. We did. They were.

We left the restaurant looking like this girl on the wall.

We thanked the chef, Hercules.

And left back into the cold.

The restaurant is called “Aglio Olio & Peperoncino”. It’s at Porinou 13, makrigianni, near the Acropolis station. Well worth a relaxing evening with great food, ambience, and soft bossanovas in the background. The number is 210 921 1801.
