Hi, my name is Alexis!

I am 5 years old girl.

Currently I am living in a town called Johnstown.

My town is located in the western part of the state of Pennsylvania.

Our town is small, and located in a region called the

Appalachian.

As you can see from the picture, we have a lot of mountains!

One important thing to mention:

Purple is my favorite color!

My rooms’ walls are colored in purple, as well as…

My bed

My closet

My drawers

My table

And many of my toys

During summer break Me and my family went on a vacation!

We like to have a hike in one of our state parks.

I like to be in nature, and to see the waterfalls, the trees and the rocks.

It is such a wonderful family time!

When I came to school during 1st grade, I was very excited!

Wondering how it is going to be…

And hoping to meet some new friends 🙂

One day, Our Homeroom teacher, Mrs. Lohr taught us some new vocabulary words.

She asked us to choose one of those words, and to draw a picture of it.

I was very happy and chose a Tepee – an Indigenous tent.

It reminded me the trips with my family.

Naturally, I decided to color my Tepee in PURPLE

I had no idea what consequences will be…

“ALEXIS!”

“IT IS A COLOR FOR

“In this condition, I will not allow to present that in MY CLASS!”

I was panicked.

I did something WRONG.

SWISH

SWISH

SWISH

I swished my baggy corduroy trousers.

Then I took a pencil, and quickly scribbled on my Teepe draw, until it was basically

Afterwards, all of my purple painting got darker and darker.

I decided that it is better to remain silent.

It is way better that way.

Nobody will

Be angry

At me

On 2nd grade, our new art teacher, Mr. Barta asked us to draw anything.

But I was afraid of being WRONG again.

So, I left my paper blank:

Then He Reached my, touched my head with his big hand, and said,

softly:

“The snowfall”

“How clean”

“And white”

“And beautiful”

Now, finally I could feel that my words and deeds are Meaningful.

That I can speak again.
